Design details:

Two different obverses of this coin were minted one with the 1998-2015 portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley (only in sets & packs) and one with the new portrait of the Queen by Jody Clark. There is also die crack variety which has added something that resembles a flag to the top of the mast.



Commemoration marking the centenary of the First World War continues with a United Kingdom £2 coin that honours the Royal Navy. With a detailed design featuring a mighty battleship, this official coin captures the strength of a force whose contribution to victory in the First World War deserves to be remembered. The design of the coin depicts a battleship from the Revenge-class battleships, based on H.M.S Royal Oak. I spoke to David who very kindly sent me his original ink sketch.
