January 2018, The Royal Mint strike your own coin is an exclusive 2018 dated coin, only available at the experience, and struck 3 times not the traditional twice. People booking multiple tours to get as many coins as possible and selling them for up to £150 on ebay etc, prices settled to around £40 on the 12th February 2018. I have obtained the mintage figure 19,934 were minted.

Even though the Royal Mint said this coin would be released in September 2017, reports of circulated coins surfaced on the 22nd June 2017 and many popped up in the South West region, the Mint still denied they were released maybe by mistake? they confirmed two days later that it was indeed out in the wild!
Sir Isaac Newton is widely recognised as one of the most influential scientists of all time and a key figure in the scientific revolution. He changed our understanding of mathematics and physics, redefined the way we see the world and shaped the security of our currency in his role as Master of the Mint. Designed by Aaron West, this 50p coin has been issued to commemorate the achievements of Sir Isaac Newton and remembers the legacy he left.
