The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be
the biggest event ever organised in France. By hosting its third Olympic
Games, Paris will join London as the only other city to have done so,
whilst the Paralympic Games will be held in the French capital for the
very first time.
Team GB is the only nation to have won a gold medal at every Summer
Olympic Games since the first modern event in 1896. The stories of Team
GB’s athletes – including who they are, what drives them, and their
achievements – represent the nation. At Paris 2024, they will come
together with over 10,000 other athletes from around the world to compete
in a stunning spectacle set amongst some of the city’s most recognisable
landmarks. Charis Tsevis is a Greek visual designer living and working in
Pafos, Cyprus. Celebrating Team GB and Paralympics GB participation at the
Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the designer has created a coin design that
depicts two athletes representing both the Olympic and Paralympic Games in
parity, with the Union flag unifying all athletes of the proud nation.
